Recent updates have enhanced its functionality by removing the requirement for Wi-Fi connectivity. DigiScan 3D provides an intuitive and portable tool for shape capture, suitable for applications in prosthetics, orthotics, and personal 3D modeling projects. Users can directly export .stl and .obj files, with accurate scaling and units, via email from an iPad to their preferred fabrication or manipulation software.
The integrated scale feature enables users to apply global adjustments to model dimensions, facilitating precise modifications and alignments.
For clinicians, DigiScan 3D offers a quick method for capturing and archiving patient-specific shapes for future reference.
Hobbyists can conveniently email their captured files for further editing or storage in third-party software of their choosing.
The developers emphasize user privacy by not collecting interaction data within the app. For sensitive projects, it is recommended that captured data be anonymized prior to transmission via email.
This service functions on a subscription model, offering five plans: 7 days for $10.99, one month for $24.99, three months for $74.99, six months for $139.99, and one year for $249.99. Payment is processed through the iTunes Account at the time of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal date via user account settings. Renewal costs will be charged prior to the new billing period. During an active subscription, cancellations are not permitted.
